We've been having issues with an install of Reader DC on a Server 2012 R2 machine. Acrobat Reader only crashes when a PDF is saved to any location on the machine and then closed.

The crash log is below:

Faulting application name: AcroRd32.exe, version: 20.6.20042.43423, time stamp: 0x5e616a22
Faulting module name: ntdll.dll, version: 6.3.9600.19678, time stamp: 0x5e82c0f7

Report Id: f62a6938-8cd9-11ea-813c-0050569aa981
Faulting package full name:
Faulting package-relative application ID:

What I've done:

- Uninstalled/Cleaned/Reinstalled

- Repaired Installation

- Disabled Protected Mode

- Added the bProtectedMode registry key

- Tried in safe mode

- Run Windows Updates

- Made a new user profile

- Tried a different version of Reader (tried Server 2012 version, same result)

- Run SFC /scannow under elevated command prompt, comes back clean

- Used Procmon to watch and record when it faults. Getting a major buffer overflow when it closes. I can attach the procmon log if requested.

Any thoughts?

Hi there

We are sorry for the trouble and the delay in response. I hope you would be able to fix it by now.

If the issue still persists, please try to update the application to the new version available. Go to Help > Check for Updates and see if that works for you

Let us know how it goes

Regards

Amal
