CTRL+C on text causes an error "Failed to load an application resource (internal error)"

One of my colleagues have been experiencing an issue when attempting to use CTRL + C on a document. When copying it would throw up the error “Failed to load an application resource (Internal error)”

Afterwards, they are able to use the copy shortcut normally. 
When attempting to copy via right click the error doesn’t show.

This happens the first time they open up adobe acrobat reader. Closing the reader, opening up the same  document and attempting to CTRL+C shows the same error again. 

I’ve reinstalled Acrobat reader already and the error is still persisting.
