Hello,

Has anyone else had an issue using Ctrl + C to copy highlighted text in version  26.001.21745? The first time I try it with a PDF I get “Failed to load an application resource (internal error).

Thanks,

Andrew

We’re also running into this issue on several laptops using Reader version 26.001.21745, on Win11 Enterprise 25h2, and happens whether it’s using right-click copy, or crtl+c.
Some machines are getting the internal error occurred message, but one is getting a full crash after an Adobe-specific error and the report error window opens. Picking either option to report or not closes Adobe completely and will continue to happen even after re-opening.

    Hi @mcsysad

Hope you are doing well, and sorry for the trouble you are experiencing.

++ Adding to  @Meenakshi0101 , please share a small video recording of the steps you are taking and the issue as it occurs for more clarity. Also collect and share the Acrobat diagnostic logs as described here https://helpx.adobe.com/acrobat/kb/acrobat-diagnostics.html so we can isolate the issue for the fix.

I was unable to find options to both enable diagnostics or to generate troubleshoot logs. I have a screen recording that should be uploaded. When the internal error message appears, you can still copy the text, and the error doesn’t come up after the first time within the same doc, or within the same instance of Adobe if other docs are on other tabs. If Adobe is closed completely and re-opened, you run into the internal error again. In one of the cases, the crash report comes up. I submitted one before making this video noting that I right-clicked on text, clicked Copy, and the error came up.

    Hi Andrew,

Thank you for reaching out, and sorry to hear that you are experiencing an issue.

Could you please let us know if this is the first time it has happened or if it is still occurring? We attempted to replicate the issue on our end, and everything worked fine.

If you are still encountering the problem, could you please share a short video demonstrating the workflow? Additionally, let us know the operating system you are using on your machine. We will review this information promptly.

Please let us know if you have any questions or need any assistance.

    Thanks,

    Hi  Meenakshi,

Thank you for the reply. The error occurs the first time you use Ctrl+C after you open a PDF. If I close Acrobat Reader and open the same PDF again and try to use Ctrl+C the error will reappear.

I’ve done some more testing; if I install Acrobat Reader from get.adobe.com using Reader_uk_install.exe I don’t get the issue. If I install using winget I get the error. Winget downloads and uses https://ardownload2.adobe.com/pub/adobe/acrobat/win/AcrobatDC/2600121745/AcroRdrDCx642600121745_MUI.exe.

    I’m running Windows 11.

    Thanks,

    Andrew
