Cursor has become black square in Reader

Document is gray, cursor is square, black and unusable within document?

Just downloaded Reader. Cant use it?

    Hi mikec767,

    Could you please follow the steps given in the link below?

    Mouse pointer changes into a black box or square when moved over blank areas in a PDF document

      I tried to follow those steps and it is the wrong file path and my acrobat does not have that file name.  Step don't work!!!
