Delayed opening with FileOpen Plugin

About two weeks ago my Reader DC application began having issues starting with the first pdf file I try to open. There is about a minute delay before the file is displayed. As long as I remember not to quit the application and just close the tab, subsequent files open fine.

This appears to be related to the FileOpen plugin (a third party plugin required for one of my documents).

If I don't install this plugin, all is well with Reader DC except I can't use that one document. Once I install that plugin, Reader DC hesitates for a minute or so before displaying the file.

Any help will be appreciated.

    What do the makers of the plugin say?

    I've been working with this document's publisher. So far we have not solved the problem. I seem to be the first person to contact them with this issue. And, two of us here are having the same problem that started about the same time.

    FileOpen has this statement: "FileOpen employees cannot provide document access or technical support on behalf of our customers." And, their contact form requires a customer ID which I don't have.
