when going to preferences and checking "Spelling" it says dictionary missing and installation may be currupt. there is no option to add.

i have checked other posts but that seems to lead to a dead end as the ditionary is there (lynguistics folder with English dictionary)

i have un installed Acrobat reder three times and re installed and repared. very frustrating

Hi there,

Hi there,

We are sorry to hear that the issue still persist.

For testing, please try to turn off the protected view and see if that works

Go to Edit > Preferences > Enhanced Security  > Turn off the Protected View and uncheck the Enhanced security > Click OK and reboot the computer and check.

Note: Please turn on the security after testing irrespective of the result.

Make sure you have all the necessary and optional updates for widows.

If it still doesn't work

Please create a test use profile with full admin rights and install the application there and check for the issue.

If it still doesn't work, please share the process monitor logs with us for investigation. Please download the procmon here (https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/sysinternals/downloads/procmon) run the procmon application and reproduce the issue and collect the logs.

Regards

Amal
