Digital signature unresponsive

I need to approve a document via Digital Signature. The field is visible on the PDF, but is unresponsive when I click on it to sign. The form was saved as Enabled Forms Fill-in & Sign for Adobe Acrobat Reader. Repairing Abdobe occasionaly repairs the signature functionality, but repairing Adobe often crashes my computer. I am using Adobe Acrobat Reader DC Version 2020.006.20042.
