Display issue

I recently purchased a Microsoft Surface Book 2. I have it connected to a dock on our network. As long as it is connected to the dock/network, I am able to open 3D PDFs and manipulate them with no issues. Once I disconnect the Surface Book 2 from the dock, the 3D PDF becomes unstable and a solid white rectangle opens in the middle of the screen and I lose 90% visibility of what is on the screen and lose all functionality.

Does anyone have any experience with why this might be happening?
