Document's icon changed and can't open them now

All of my files that were designated PDFnow have a different look . When I click on them to open them I get the following :

C:/ program files (86) adobe Acrobat Reader DC / Reader/ BIBUtils.dll is either not designed to run with windows on it or it contains an error. Try installing the program again.

But When i try to install thr program again it says I have the most up to date program already.

Why is it that one day I don't have a probelm with my PDF's and the next day I cannot read them,?

help !

    Hi carlz99198924,

    Please try to right click on PDF and select Open with > Adobe Acrobat Reader DC.

    If you still experience the issue, run cleaner tool Download Adobe Reader and Acrobat Cleaner Tool - Adobe Labs  and restart your system.

    Then re-install Adobe Reader DC from here:  Adobe - Adobe Acrobat Reader DC Distribution
