Downloaded pdf not displaying properly

I bought an online textbook and got a pdf link for the book. After opening it, every OTHER page in the pdf is cut off on the last line of bottom text entirely (i can see one or two spots where a 't' or 'h' would be) and the first letter of each word on the left. the pages seem as if they've been shifted down and to the left.  there anything I can do to fix this as i do not have enough time to get a new textbook and i need a specific line of text for citation purposes.
