Downloaded Reader XI; can only view PDFs in Reader DC

Hello; I recently downloaded and installed Adobe Reader XI onto my new laptop (with Windows 10 operating system). However, I can only view my PDFs in Reader DC, which I don't want. How can I actually view my PDFs in Reader XI? This is the only Adobe Reader that is actually installed on my laptop. Many thanks in advance for guidance!

    What makes you think you can only view your files in Reader DC? What happens if you open them using Reader XI?

    Thanks for your reply. I actually was able to select Reader XI as the default in Settings and that took care of it.
