Thanks for your answer.  I have acrobat pro that I just downloaded and paid for to be able to edit myself.  I see the prepare form and click it but I still don't know how to create lines to form new boxes.  I have tried to copy and paste other one already on form but that doesn't work.  I am trying to teach myself and some things are intuitive but not this particular task. Thanks for any additional help.

You can right-click the form field and choose Properties>Appearance to add border/fill color, line thickness...etc. Once you set it on one close the dialog, right-click again on that form field and select "Use current properties as new defaults" then any fields you make after that will have the same properties.

    Hi Kazthea,

Which application you are working on? Is that Adobe Reader DC or Acrobat DC in which you are trying to edit file?

If its free application Adobe Reader DC then its not possible to do with that.

If you are working with Adobe Acrobat DC then you may check  the "Prepare Form" under tools section.

Check the help document and see if adding boxes through prepare form would help- Convert existing forms to fillable PDFs |
