Editing PDF form makes the PDF close after a couple of seconds

I have created a PDF using InDesign 15.0.2, I later have to make edits to the PDF. I know it would be best to make the edits in InDesign but our workflow and time does not allow that. The edits would include editing text, duplicating interactive forms, and maybe deleting text/pages. We get to another round of edits and have to add another form but Adobe DC Pro 20.0 closes with no error message. This problem happens on both Windows and Mac. I also have the same fonts on both the computer that is reading/editing the PDF in Acrobat and the computer with InDesign.

Is there anything I can do to fix the PDF so I can make a couple more minor changes?
