Editing text in new update of Reader

My Adobe Reader has just been automatically updated, and for the 2nd update in a row it has made it much more difficult to use. Now, when I want to edit text, I can make one change e.g. font size, but then to make another to the same piece of text or another, I have to close the comments box and then reopen it again - madness. And then I can make another edit e.g. change the colour of the same piece of text. Surely this cannot have been intentional as part of the 'update'. Can someone advise how to swicth off automatic updates as it won't be long before this is absolutey useless!

Adobe Acrobat DC and Reader DC official update (19.021.20049) containing the fix for this issue is now available. This update will be automatically pushed to all existing installations of Acrobat and Reader. If you want, you may also manually trigger the update early by opening the application and going to Help > Check for Updates.

    Hi There,

Thanks for reaching out. As described above, you are facing issues while editing the PDF after the new update, correct?

Adobe Reader is a freeware with limited functions and features, we can not edit PDFs, we can add comments to the PDF using Adobe Acrobat Reader DC. To edit the PDF we need Adobe Acrobat DC (paid Subscription)

We need some more information for a better understanding:

    • What is the version of the Adobe Acrobat Reader DC installed? To check the version of the application please use the help article https://helpx.adobe.com/acrobat/kb/identify-product-version.html
    • What is the workflow/steps you are doing to add comments to PDF? Could you please share the screenshot of the same.
    • Is this a behavior with a particular file or with any file you try to add comment?
    • Is the file stored locally on your computer or on a shared network? try downloading the file to your computer and check.
    • What is the version of the OS?

We are here for help, just need more information

    Regards

    Amal
