Error 1578

What can I do?  When I try to update to Adobe Reader Version 11.0.23 I keep getting the error 1578 and don't know how to proceed.  for a few months I have been getting the notification to update and proceeds but end up with the error every time.  I use a macbook late 2008.  What can I do to update?  Please help!
