Error file was damaged and could not be repaired

Question

Every time I try to download a PDF file it down loads to my download file but when I try to open it this comment appears "The file was damaged and could not be repaired"What can I do to fix it?

I am having this issue too. I am using Adobe Acrobat Pro DC on MacOS Big Sur and am trying to open a pdf file but get the message "There was an error opening this document. The file is damaged and could not be repaired".

I have uninstalled and reinstalled the software but this did not resolve the issue. I have also installed Adobe Acrobat Reader DC, but this did not resolve the issue. I also cannot open the file through Apple's Preview application.

I am able to open the document through the Chrome browser but not through the Adobe Acrobat softwares which means I cannot add edits to the document.
