When attempting to use acrobat reader in a client software, whenever I attempt to open a PDF on the client software the error message: 'Create OCX (AcroPDF.PDF) failed at point 9: 80004005 (Unspecified error)', occurs and then the client software crashes, not sure if anyone has seen something like this before but any input or fixes would be much appreciated.

Hi @Declan31597792v6oi

Hope you are doing well.

Has the Acrobat Reader that has installed is it for personal use or an Enterprise deployment?

Have you enabled the plugin in the Client's software, or how does it work?

Are your .pdf files set to open via Acrobat Reader by default?

Please ensure that you have got the most recent patch of Acrobat.

Go to Acrobat Reader> Help > Check for updates and reboot the computer once (you must save all the work before restarting)

To download the patch manually, more information about this release is here: Release Notes | Adobe Acrobat, Reader

Thanks,

Akanchha

Hi,

The installed acrobat reader is for personal use, I think the software uses acrobat to give the user a view of the file before they open it but I am unaware of whether it uses a plugin or not and my acrobat reader is set to open pdf by default and is fully updated and the error persists. Do you have any other ideas as they would be much appreciated.
