I'm new here, and can't find any references to error messages!  I have 2;   software exception;oxc0000409  ox00007ff6152E11DO;

and "cannot open 7185.946e9.  These are meaningless to me.  Also, I haven't been able to get HP to give me instructions on the use of the disc burn operation, if it's even possible!  Reading discs is no problem.  Thanks all for any help.  [personal information removed by moderator] I have much trouble navigating this system (NO INSTRUCTIONS!!) so use the email address for replies!  Lee

    Ok, you didn't mention that before. Sounds as if you have a bigger problem as other unrelated software is also failing. What else fails? And when did it start?

    Started about a month ago.  These thins show up on turn-on and sometimes on shutdown!I now think it is related to that last acrobat update!  One other thing I didn't mention is that on turn-on, it shows a list of PDF messages, and I recall one of the updates mentioning PDF.  Maybe I should go to the installed programs list and remove all adobe programs and reload them!  Just a stab in the dark as I don't really know what I'm doing!! Hi leer80511824,

    I am sorry for replying so late.

    Yes, we can try reinstalling Reader and see if that resolves the issue.

    1- Remove the existing installation of Reader using Cleaner tool which can be downloaded from here: Download Adobe Reader and Acrobat Cleaner Tool - Adobe Labs

    2- Restart the computer.

    3- Download and install Reader DC from here: Adobe - Adobe Acrobat Reader DC Distribution

    Let me know how it goes.

    Thank You,

    Shivam

    Ok, thanks. The thing is, it doesn't sound like Adobe Reader has any connection to your problems. It isn't involved with your home page, or your HP disk thing. What makes you feel Adobe Reader is involved?

    Because it said  so.  "Acrobat reader could not open" and gave the 7185.946e9 number

    May be that the file extension .exe is associated with Acrobat Reader:
