Hi Kieranm,

Getting an error "Newer version already installed" while installing Adobe Reader DC, is an known issue. The error is shown due to a missing update for Universal C Runtime in Windows. You can install the update using one of the following ways given in the help article here: Error 1722 while installing/updating Acrobat DC/Acrobat Reader DC on Windows

Thanks,

Akanchha

Outside of the forums, there is no support for the free Reader.

Try this:

Remove any traces of Reader with this tool: Download Adobe Reader and Acrobat Cleaner Tool - Adobe Labs

Go here and download the proper version of your OS and install: Adobe - Adobe Acrobat Reader DC Distribution

Tried both, still says a higher version is installed when there is no version installed at all?!
