Error while creating message

I am trying to email a completed pdf form to my work. Every time I click on the mail icon I get this message.

My email account is gmail, I am using a Macbook air, OS High Sierra v 10.13.6

What am I doing wrong??

    Please read this thread where others discuss the same issue. It appears to be an issue with a folder called "Drafts".
    Received the "Error while creating message" while sending file as email attachment

    Hi - I'm not using Outlook - which was the problem in the previous thread I think - and my drafts folder has no new emails in it. I'm using Spark (Readdle) but also if I open up Mail there are no new emails in the drafts folder.
