Since updating to the latest Acrobat Reader, computer (windows) takes over 11 minutes to start. It ends with a black screen except for two small boxes:

"Personalised settings: Setting up personalised settings for Adobe Acrobat user settings."

&

"Run DLL: There was a problem starting. The parameter is incorrect."

    Hi Evocrim,

As you get the error message, it seems that the application is not updated properly.

Try once removing the application from the machine and re-install it.

Use cleaner tool Download Adobe Reader and Acrobat Cleaner Tool - Adobe Labs to remove the application from your machine.

Reboot the machine and then download the installer file from here Adobe - Adobe Acrobat Reader DC Distribution

Check if that makes any difference.

Hope this will resolve the issue.

Let us know if the issue still persists.

We will be waiting for your response.

    Regards,

    Meenakshi

    Thanks for the feedback Meenakshi,

there was nothing to suggest the update had failed so I have gone with half your suggestion and uninstalled Acrobat,

and I'll be using different software that hopefully won't disable my computer.
