Hi Silviak,

We are sorry for the trouble. As described you are getting the error 'There was an error retrieving policies. Default security policy file could not be created.'

Would you mind sharing the version of the Adobe Acrobat/Reader DC you are using? To check the version go to Help > About Adobe Acrobat and make sure you have the latest version 20.12.20043 installed. Go to Help > Check for Updates.

Also, please try to repair the installation from the help menu and see if that makes any difference. (For Windows Only)

You may also look at the similar discussion https://answers.acrobatusers.com/Default-security-policy-file-q8809.aspx and see if that helps.

Regards

We have the latest version installed like 2020.006.20034 from Adobe Reader DC.

I have news ... this error message is not from Adobe Reader DC but from Adobe Acrobat DC with the version 202.0012.20034 and I hat repaired the installation but the error message ist always coming when the user open an pdf file.

I have installed a lot of Adobe Acrobat DC and professional DC and the user never had any problems only this user :-(.

Hi there

We are sorry to hear that. Please try to update the Reader to version 20.12.20043 from the help menu > check for updates.

Also, please try to create a new test user profile with full admin rights on windows or enable the root account in Mac and try using the application there and check.

If it still doesn't work, as described in the similar discussion shared earlier, please remove the application using the Acrobat Cleaner Tool (https://labs.adobe.com/downloads/acrobatcleaner.html), reboot the computer once and reinstall the application using the link (https://helpx.adobe.com/in/download-install/kb/acrobat-downloads.html)

Let us know how it goes.

Regards

Amal
