Font weight issues then converting from Pages on Mac to PDF

I've written a manuscript in Pages on Mac. The font is New times roman 12. But when I convert the manuscript to PDF the font comes out much fainter and harder to read- headache.. Anyone have a similar issue and/or a fix?

@Scott387959153sx5 double check if the fonts are embedded when you export the PDF from Pages. In Pages, go to File > Export. Under the Export Options tab, check the box for Embed Fonts. This ensures the font is included in the PDF, preventing potential font substitution issues.

Also, I would do a test print, and depending on your printer, pick the highest print resolution. On my printer, if I choose normal, the text is faint; but if I choose the fine setting, the printout is a deep black. This helps me know what to print as a draft and when to print in high quality in saving ink!

Also, test the different compatibility of the PDF.

thank you for your response however I don't have an "export options" option in Pages. There is only "Export As" and that just leads to the file types you want to export to. I've also checked settings and don't see an export options. I'm using Pages 12.2.1
