Fonts Look Jagged in Reader & Toggling Rendering Menu Doesn't Help

I'm having a big problem with Adobe Acrobat Reader on Creative Cloud. I have the latest version and the fonts are looking all horrible and jagged.

Many other answers tell you to go to Preferences > Page Display > Rendering > and play around with the drop down both and smooth text, etc.

While this worked for ONE of my PDFs, it did NOT work for the ones where there is a lot of text on the page.

I know this is an Acrobat Reader issue only, because that same PDF looks great in Apple's Preview program. So, the PDF IS WORKING, but Adobe Acrobat is not.

This is extremely frustrating, because about a year ago everything worked perfectly. Whatever Adobe did with DC is horrible. I noticed a few other issues with DC, as well, but I don't want to hijack my own thread by adding those here. So, if someone found a "better" way to smooth the text out beyond "smooth text" I'm all ears.

WHY Acrobat would EVER decide to NOT smooth out the perfectly smooth fonts is beyond my comprehension. The fonts are fine...just render them as is. WHY would you intentionally screw it up and put us through this when everything worked just fine for YEARS???

Hi,

Sorry for the delay in response.

Are you still facing this issue? Could you let us know Acrobat Reader's dot version installed on the machine? You may refer to the steps given in this link for the same: Identify the product and its version for Acrobat and Reader DC

Would it be possible if you can share problematic pdf file with us? You may create a link for the file via Send & Track using this link: https://cloud.acrobat.com/send , click Add files > choose files from my computer

Select the file > create link. You can copy paste the link here in the forums or share it via private message by left-clicking on the person's user name and click Message.

Thanks,

Shivam
