Force Enable auto updates for Reader DC on domain using GPO

Hi all - seeking a way to force enable automatic updates to Reader DC using group policy.  The domain has roughly 1200 workstation end points with various versions of Reader DC going back several iterations; given the vulnerabilities in older versions, it's fairly important to our security and compliance team to get these addressed in a timely manner.

I've downloaded the supplied ADMX template and created a new test group policy, however the provided template only allows for DISABLING updates, not ENABLING them.

When I go into the policy and configure it in such a way as to enable the updates (and also remove user option to disable or manually run updates), the policy basically remains blank (no settings configured), as there is no real to "turn on" the update feature.  Adobe's plethora of registry entries make it fairly challenging to nail down any one (or two, or three, or six) different settings needed to force clients to automatically update themselves.

Anyone had any luck doing this previously?

Did you ever get any feedback about this? I'm interested in doing the same thing...

Hi @Curt24884157sp5q,

Hope you are doing well. Thanks for writing in!

You can check for the lockable settings which has certain values to be changed in the registry, and the desired functionality can be achieved.

You can refer to the article and follow the Mode keyword for reference: Windows Updates (https://adobe.ly/3x5OM6F)

Hope this helps.
