Free and subscription versions

I downloaded the free version of Pro and I liked it so much that I decided to go with the monthly subscription.  The problem is that both the free and paid versions are on my computer and whenever I open a pdf the free program opens it and I can't edit.  There are documents stored on this version but since I am paying for the editable version, that is what I want to use.  What will happen to the documents that I have saved on the free version if I delete the program??
