Garbage characters in Adobe Reader DC

A PDF generate by a software shows, when opened in Adobe Reader DC Continuous release | Version 2021.001.20145 garbage characters. If I open that same PDF document in Chrome it shows the text correctly; if I select some text that seem garbage and paste it in Notepad , the text is also shown correctly.

 

This situation started to occur recently without changes to the software that generates the document.

 

Also, the same file in my PC with the same Adobe Reader version, is shown correctly and

 

Can anyone shed some light on this???

Another strange information: opening the same file with Foxit Reader shows the contents as intended...

Without providing a sample PDF file that exhibits this issue, there is absolutely nothing that we can assist with.

 

Typically though, such problems exist due to a combination of failure of the PDF creation program to properly embed fonts and/or to provide proper mapping tables.

 

But again, if you want/need assistance, you must provide a sample PDF file.
