Gedcom Ancestry.com downloads with Acrobat

I am trying to download my tree in Ancestry.co through the gedcom file.  I get an error message that Adobe Acrobat Reader could not open the family tree because it is either not supported file type or because the file has been damaged.  Is there anything I can do?

If that is not a PDF file, you need to ask the vendor how to open the file

If it is a PDF file, it may be corrupted
