HELP Mac error opening slides from Microsoft users

I hope you are doing well, and thank you for reaching out.

The error message you’re seeing occurs because the PDF uses a custom or non-standard font that is either:

• Not embedded properly in the PDF, or
• Not available on your Mac system.

Windows often has these fonts installed or substitutes them automatically, which is why the file opens fine there.

Open the PDF, go to Menu > Properties > Fonts. If the font appears as 'Subset' or 'Not Embedded', that’s the issue.

If you have access to Acrobat, use Preflight to Fix Fonts. In Acrobat Pro: All Tools > Print Production > Preflight. Search for “Embed Fonts” fixup and apply it. This embeds fonts if licensing allows. 

If You Don’t have Acrobat Pro, then use Adobe Acrobat Online to convert or optimize the PDF. Or ask the sender to export the slides as PDF with fonts embedded (in PowerPoint: File > Save As > PDF > Options > Embed fonts). Re-create a Fully Embedded PDF (if you have Acrobat Pro). If you have access to Acrobat Pro (not just Reader): 

Open the PDF > Go to Menu > Save As Other > Optimized PDF. In the left panel, choose Fonts > check “Embed all fonts.” Save the new version and test it again. If successful, this version will now display correctly on your Mac.

Install the Missing Font (if available), If you can get the exact font file, you can install it manually.
