HIGHLIGHTER DOESN'T WORK AFTER NEW UPDATE

PRIOR TO A FEW DAYS AGO (APPROX) I WAS ABLE TO USE THE HIGHLIGHTER WITHOUT ANY PROBLEMS.

AFTER THE RECENT UPDATE (2026.002.21901) THE HIGHLIGHTER NO LONGER WORKS. I’VE VERIFIED THE OPACITY IS SET TO 0% AND THE COLOR SELECTED IS NOT WHITE.

THE HIGHLIGHTER ACTS THE SAME AS BEFORE; IT JUST NO LONGER HIGHLIGHTS (SEE ATTACHED).

I USE THIS TOOL EVERYDAY - ALL DAY AND THIS IS REALLY AN ISSUE.

ISSUES WITH THE LINE TOOLS MENTIONED IN MULTIPLE POSTS ALSO STARTED AROUND THE SAME TIME. I’VE BEEN ABLE TO WORKAROUND THIS BY DISABLING PROTECTED MODE.

ANYONE HAVING THE SAME TROUBLE WITH THE HIGHLIGHTER?  ANY WAY TO FIX THIS?

PLEASE EXCUSE THE CAPS, IT’S JUST EASIER ON MY COMPUTER.

THANKS FOR ANY HELP POSSIBLE.

That "annoying blue box" is the highlight... You probably just set it to be transparent.

After clicking it press Ctrl+E and you'll be able to change it via the floating toolbar that will open (it's the check-board icon).

PS. After making this change right-click the highlight again and select Make Current Properties Default and it should not happen when you create a new one.

    THANK YOU! :) -M
