Here is the deal - I have a Windows 7 (32-bit) notebook with all the latest updates. Adobe Reader XI and evening tried Adobe Acrobat Pro with Internet Explorer 10 cannot view pdf files online.

I have tried the following.

     1) Removed apps and reinstall no change

     2) Removed virus software no change

     3) Diable all add-on's except Adobe's no change

     4) Did just about every trick I could find out on the net

Oh ya, the pdfs work great in "Google Chrome" - "go figure". My user want to us IE and I dont know why this is an issue. I have a nother work station that I upgraded from XP and Adobe 8 and it will view the pdfs great with IE 10. I just cannot find what is keeping IE 10 from display the pdfs. All I get is a blank screen and no error messages. If anyone has an idea that would be great.

Thanks

On win7 using IE10, to get Adobe Reader to be used I needed to turn off the "Protect Mode" in the IE security tab.  After doing that, the enable/disable in the "Manage Add-on" dialog will control whether the reader is launched inside or outside a browser window.

Does that happen with all PDF files, e.g. http://helpx.adobe.com/pdf/adobe_reader_reference.pdf ?

Google Chrome has its own PDF viewer, that explains the difference.

Yes, I am aware that Google has its own PDF viewer. I believe something somewhere in the registry got hosed up when updates were applied and IE 10 was updated. I have unstalled IE10 and IE9 to start over but IE does not clean out settings in the registry. I know now that it is not Adobe Reader it is something in Window Internet Explorer that is keep the pdf from displaying. The Adobe add-ons are loaded and enabled. Local pdf can be viewed but nothing from the web. I compared all the security setting to another system running Windows 7 and IE10 that can view pdf's and did not find anything. I believe there is something wrong in the registry but just dont know what. Also I uninstall Adobe Reader and install another pdf reader and IE10 did gave me the same results (a blank page).

In Manage add-ons, do you have Adobe PDF Reader?

You write that you get a blank page; do you see the blue loading bar when you try to view a PDF?

Blank page could also be something else; do you have the latest available graphics driver installed?  See http://forums.adobe.com/thread/945765

Other than that I have no more ideas.
