How can I save acrobat reader digital signature validation result?

I have just received request from end user that there is a need to save the verification result of digital signature in PDF file. I have searched in internet but no good news for it can be found.

So, is there anyone having any clue on how to do so i.e. after opening digitally signed PDF using Acrobat Reader DC, I can save the verification result (especially the validation time) to another file?

Thanks! Michael

As far as I know, Acrobat does not feature a signature validation report export. You can of course take screen shots.

Depending on what you mean by "validation time" the screen shot should include different components:

  • If you mean the time at which the validation was executed, the signature panel should be included with its "Last Checked" entries.
  • If you mean the time for which the validation requires validity and non-revocation confirmations, the signature properties dialog should be included with its "Signature was validated as of ..." entry.

Alternatively there are numerous signature validation web sites out there. Depending on the purpose the validation results shall be saved for, there might even be web services that more specifically match the requirement than the generic validation executed by Acrobat.

As you call those users "end users", it sounds like you should present a solution for many of them. Thus, you could set up such a validation web service which validates exactly according to the legal requirements of your context.
