How do I download an older version or reader?

I have speant hours on this nonsense, everytime I try to download the free version of reader and install it tells me there is a newer version installed already ?  total utter frustrating rubbish.

Spent hours serching around and trying forums just to find download links for an older version - do yu have one please ?  not interested in anything else just an older version thanks
