How do I fix “grayed out” combine files option in Adobe Acrobat Pro?

This just happened - I need to combine PDF files today or tomorrow!!

Well, I couldn’t figure it out, so I uninstalled Adobe Acrobat and then downloaded and installed Adobe Acrobat Pro. I then restarted my computer and then accessed Adobe Acrobat Pro, now I am able to combine files.

Good to hear the issue has been resolved.
To confirm, you were using Acrobat Pro before not Acrobat Reader? I ask because this post is in the Acrobat Reader discussion rather than Acrobat Pro. If it was Acrobat Reader, that would have been the reason - it does not have teh Combine files capability. If it was Acrobat Pro, it may have been some corrupt or some other issue with the installation and so teh reinstall, or even an update would be a solution.
