How do I open JPEG document Adobe?

I have tried many times to open JPEG documents and always get a message stating Adobe does not work with this kind of document. Is there something I am missing?

The file association is probably wrong. Chances are JPG files are linked to Adobe Reader that's why your computer is trying to open the JPEG files using the wrong software (as pointed out by Bernd and Anoop). You may want to change the default program associated with .JPG image files.

I am opening a pdf.  The pdf has a jpeg IN it.  I used to be able to see the whole document, including images, but the latest Adobe Acrobat Reader I cannot.  Why?  It is frustrating to open a pdf in Adobe Acrobat, not see everything (the jpeg), and then have to use a different program to see the whole pdf.  Can I change the settings to fix this or is this just a blunder in Adobe Acrobat Reader?

In the preferences enable the entry "Show large images".

You can use Adobe Acrobat DC or a subscription, but there are plenty of ways to do it online for free. Just google it.

Adobe Reader is not meant for opening JPEG files. Its a PDF reader software.

For image editing we have Photoshop, please refer to following link for more information:

With Adobe Reader you can view PDF documents. Adobe Reader can't open JPEG files.
