HOW DO I STOP ADOBE DC?

I Have checked on the adobe installation of Adobe reader Xi free version,  notify me when you install updates. In addition, I have checked on my personal computer in the control panel do not install automatic updates. Yet Adobe DC has already installed itself twice on my computer and deleted the program I do not want deleted, adobe XI (eleven), which I like much better than the Adobe DC for a myriad of reasons. And now I see Adobe DC popping up at intervals again trying to wipe out my adobe xi and force it's installation on my computer. Does anyone out there know where the off switch is for this witch? Thanks

As per the issue description mentioned above, you want to disable upgrade notification for Acrobat Reader DC in Adobe Reader XI, is that correct?
