Question

How to avoid "This Document could not be saved. There was a problem reading the document (111)."

Hello,

I created a PDF which I placed on our network drive ( a first for me ). My SME wants to re-save the PDF, but he got the above-mentioned error. I've never seen this particular error before.

I am wondering if I should be creating the PDF using the Save as a Review PDF since I'm placing it on the company network for the SME to grab. I have no issues when sending sections of the manual via email.

Obviously, I'm grasping at straws!

I welcome any advice.

Thanks very much!

Hi Carol338940092huj,

Thank you for reaching out.

Please let us know what you mean here by re-save the PDF. Is he trying to save it after making changes or just keeping it at his end locally? More information would be helpful.

Assuming you are making changes to PDF. Try downloading the PDF from the drive and save it locally. Then, try re-saving the PDF. Check if you still get the error.

Let us know how it goes.

Thanks,

Meenakshi

Hi Meenakshi,

Thank you for responding to my question.

My SME is the one experiencing this problem.

He was trying to save the PDF locally; he experiences intermittent Internet outages and wanted to ensure he had a copy containing all of his comments in the event he lost power.

I am able to re-save the same PDF that I sent him by right-clicking on the PDF. No problem for me. I am wondering if placing the PDF in one of our network directories somehow is creating the problem. I have never seen this error before.

I created the PDF using "save as PDF," and did not create using "PDF for review" (sorry if I'm not accurately describing the menu correctly).

I look forward to any suggestions anyone has.

Thank you!
