    Hi karolinag93357078,

Sorry to hear that you didnt like the new icon. We did this as an attempt to try to make it easier for the users to identify Reader from Acrobat when both the products are installed on the machine.

Unfortunately there is no way as of now to go back to the old icon for Reader.

I will pass on your feedback to the relevant teams.

    Thanks.

KarolinaG, you have a PM (assuming they don't hack into my user profile and delete the ones I sent - and even if Adobe do, you should have it on email that I actually sent it over).

Sorry to anyone that missed out, if Adobe nuke my account as a result, just share those instructions around by PM and keep the dream alive.

It's sad that a company just can't respect their userbase (and those helping others out).

May as well not even have an Adobe Community, if you are going to overly police it and remove messages from those who are trying to help and offer working and valid solutions to problems your programmers have created.

I've got no subscriptions tied to this account (not my company account), but a roughly $50k software contract with Adobe that my Account Manager is fearing he's about to lose over this stupidity (due to the change of the icon, the cost of downtime/rectification to the business, and the severe lack of respect shown by Adobe Community moderators to remove users posts who are just trying to assist others).

If your programmers don't know how to rectify the issue for good, it's simple.

In ACRORD32.EXE and ACROBAT.EXE simply include the original icon (and make that default).

In circumstances where people want the icon changed (and I'm sure nobody asked for it to be changed), then they have that option available to them via the EXE file.

Don't force the majority into an issue that impacts a minority.

I agree! I would like to change it back, as well. Any of these were better for me:

    Sorry Mohd Amish,

    Respectfully that is rubbish.

People should only ever have Acrobat OR the Reader installed, not both.

If they have both installed then only one will become default for loading that File Type. If they try to open and it open in Reader not Acrobat, then their IT department need to change the default program for .PDF file type. Vice Versa.

It doesn't require a brand new icon and changing everything to completely screw around 95% of people who only use Acrobat.

All this change has done is cause widespread panic across user bases, as they wonder if they have a virus or "what happened to that icon". Not to mention users complaining about wanting the old icon back (as is being noticed all over the forum here).

It's change for changes sake. There is no reason or purpose behind it.

The CORRECT way of doing this, would have been to keep the default icon, but ADD an additional icon in, for if people chose to dual load both programs and differentiate between them.

I understand your concern. At this point it is not possible to roll-back to the previous PDF icon.

We would request you to file a feature / change request via the form Feature Request/Bug Report Form  to help us plan this better in upcoming releases.

    thanks
