How to change the name in the comments (Adobe Reader X)?

Hello,

I desesperately try to change the name that appears in my comments. It is based on a certification my husband made with a nickname that I would like to change. I have no idea how to change this certification, there isn't any account on Adobe where I could change it. When I go to "Preferences/identity", his nickname appears but no possibility to change it. The only thing I read is that I have to go on the Adobe.com page. Having no account, I can't change anything.

I already changed the name of my computer, nothing. I reinstalled Adobe, nothing. I downloaded the version 11 and I installed it, I was asked if I wanted to use the previous certification - no means to answer "no", so I still had the nickname I don't want!!

If anyone has an idea how to delete the certificate and to replace it by a new one (I don't care about the certification, all I want is that the nickname is changed!) I would be grateful.

Thanks in advance.

No need to go anywhere near the Registry - you just need to right-click an existing comment and edit it.

I cannot change the user name on the comments. I have unchecked the box in the comments and clicked the make default box but neither works. The only way to do it is to go in and change every single one manually and this is way too time consuming. Is there another way? Ive searched for nearly an hour and everything I find is either inaccurate, like instructs me to go into the settings when there is no settings, or doesn't work, like everything here.

    Help!!!

I'm having the same problem on a colleague's computer. I tried changing this through the comment preferences but the next comment reverts to the original (wrong) version. Can we make this permanent?

I found that it is also hidden in the Id section of the preferences but as the original poster stated, this cannot be changed.

Thanks for your answer! I didn't know that it would be so complicated, as I do professional work on my computer I don't want to change configuration and risk to have trouble afterwards :-(

Could you please tell me where exactly to find this registry? I use Windows 7.

I think I'll try it in the evening, so I'll be sure that I won't be "blocked" all over the day ;-)

    Still thank you!
