How to convert existing PDF to Optical scan file?

Is there a way with Adobe Reader to convert existing PDFs, mostly text documents to a OSF version? I recently bought a Scansnap ix500, but did not realize until I had scanned more than 100 documents to PDF files that I needed to mark the settings for OSF. I'm told there is no way to retroactively do that in the Scansnap program. I work off of an iMac or Apple laptop.

Not possible with Acrobat Reader. Adobe Acrobat has a OCR function.
