How to convert PDF to flattened text in Word file?

Good afternoon:

I scanned a series of printed text documents to PDF.

I used our Export PDF subscription to convert to word format and it corrupted all the spacing, fonts, formatting text color in some places, symbols being inserted, and portions of the original text completely omitted!! it's not a workable file conversion of our lengthy legal papers --

Any ideas on how to get a flattened reproduction of pdf text into word? without any/many modifications and/or characters becoming "lost in translation"?

Need an answer ASAP Please and thank you.

PS-  Already did a test as to whether my issue was for one document only or for all. We determined, all.

Hi Jlisabeth,

I am afraid to say that it is not possible to convert a PDF to flattened Word file using the Export PDF or any other method.

It is a property of the MS Word application, it converts the file into the editable form. It cannot save file in a flattened form.

Hope that answers your query.

maybe i ought not have used the term "flattened", when I actually meant a true-to-form converted file in word. Does it help it maintain the same clarity if i create the file in word, export to pdf and then convert back? someone in a forum suggested that, though it didn't make much sense for me unless it was a file i would be returning to again.
