How to keep 32bit installed and prevent auto install of 64 bit adobe reader as of 10th of May 2022?
Currently having issues with Adobe Reader auto-updating itself.
We make the following changes on the local machine in a domain environment to prevent the device from updating to 64 bit but it keeps ignoring and reinstating the following:
- Disabling and deleting the Adobe Acrobat Update Task in Task Scheduler
- Disable the service “Adobe Acrobat Update Service” and ensure it doesn’t start-up
- Amended the “Mode” DWORD record and changed the value Data field from “3” to “0” Please find below the location of the Reg entry:
· Computer\HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\WOW6432Node\Adobe\Adobe ARM\Legacy\Acrobat\{AC76BA86-1033-1033-7760-BC15014EA700}
The string of numbers on the end may differ.
The software being used is only designed to run with the 32-bit version of Adobe Reader and makes users unable to print from the software when updated to 64bit.
Perhaps there is a GPO we can add?
