How to look in an embedded index

I have created an embedded index and would like to do a proximity search.  But when I try to search, then  "Match All of the words" does not come up as a choice for "Return Results Containing".  With an external index I can get that choice to appear by selecting an external index.  So I am guessing that I need to now select my embedded index.  Or ???

I would really appreciate some help.
