how to permanently save the data entered in an acrobat reader form?

How do I permanently save the data when I fill out into a PDF form that I wish to distribute to a number of people so they can open the file and read the data, regardless of what type of PDF reader they're using?

Saving the file should be enough, unless you have a very old version of Reader.

Regarding this: "regardless of what type of PDF reader they're using"

This is not a minor issue. Many PDF viewers out there are faulty and will not handle form fields correctly.

There's nothing we can do about that. Only recommend to the user to stick use Adobe Reader for best results.

Good point. However, the question still stands even in an environment, where the only PDF Reeder is Adobe Acrobat Reader.

After filling in a form using Acrobat Reader how do I then save it as a non-form PDF so the data cannot be deleted or changed?

Digitally sign the file.

Forgot to say I'm using Acrobat Reader to fill in the form, but couldn't find a way to edit the message after it was posted.
