Hello,

It seems as though after a recent update of Acrobat reader,

Acrobat reader. automatically opens the PDF files that I have download from the internet .

I want the downloading process and the opening process to remain separate.

(Acrobat reader should only open the files when I open then on my computer)

How do I stop files that I download from automatically opening when they are downloaded?

Thank you

This is a setting that you will find in your web browser, not in Acrobat.

The "Open PDFs automatically in Reader when they are downloaded in Chrome browser" checkbox inside Acrobat's Preferences > General says otherwise.

THANK YOU @X1761 - You are a life saver! This was completely unnessesary and so many unhelpful people kept pointing me in the wrong direction. Wish I could amplify your answer to help others!
