How to remove Reader DC from 2017 Macbook Pro

Normally very happy with Adobe software and creative suite etc...BUT installed DC today on a hardly ever used mint Macbook Pro (2018) - wish I hadn't - was trying to open up some password protected PDF files and it didn't present a dialogue box to enter password - just came up with "could not open...not supported file type...or file damaged message"

So now I just want to get rid of this by removing it and cant seem to do this - and after some web searching it seems this is not an easy task.

PLEASE HELP - Im very familiar with Windows OS but a rookie with Macs 🙂
