How to reset the default preferences in Adobe Reader

I played around with the viewing preferences without understanding what i was doing.

Now when I try to view  a document the page is just grey.

I just want to know if I can reset the preferences (tools>preferences>) to whatever was defaulted when I downloaded the program.

Please help

To restore the preferences, please refer the steps provided in this thread: How to reset Preference settings in Acrobat. 

If that does not help, try to uninstall the application.

You can use cleaner tool Download Adobe Reader and Acrobat Cleaner Tool - Adobe Labs to remove the application if you are on Windows.

Then restart your system and re-install the application from here: Adobe - Adobe Acrobat Reader DC Distribution

i did in the end have to unistall and downloaded it again from the Adobe official website.

Now to leave well enough alone thanks
