How to unprotect my Acrobat Reader

Sir or Madam, Please forgive me for requesting support as I am new to this Acrobat Reader application. I may be in a protected or Secured Mode as I am not able to edit my existing file. Example: 1. When I am typing and get close to the right side of the page the computer freezes and I can't free it up to continue. 2. I am not able to edit the file. Please help me. Thank you. ER
