I'm running Windows 10 and Acrobat crashed every time I open a PDF. I had the latest version installed. I tried to uninstall it and it crashed doing a uninstall. So use the program REVO Uninstaller so remover the program files. I ran CC cleaner to clean up the registry. Restarted my computer and tried to download and install it again. No luck it stop in the installation process and say I have a newer version already installed on my computer. But I don't the program has been removed. Can someone help me resolve this issue so I can reinstall the program?

Please reboot the machine and then try to run the Acrobat Cleaner tool. if it's still crashing, then check for any pending updates of Windows, download and install them. After the update, reboot the machine.

try running the cleaner tool, uninstall the Acrobat Reader, and install it back.

Let us know how it goes.

    Hello Jeffs,

We apologize for the inconvinience caused, as per the description above, you are not able to install the Acrobat Reader, Is that correct?

As you mentioned above, you tried uninstalling the Reader, but during the installation,  it's saying that Reader is already installed.

Please use the Adobe Acrobat Cleaner tool to remove the Reader, then restart the computer. To download the Acrobat Cleaner tool, use the URL Download Adobe Reader and Acrobat Cleaner Tool - Adobe Labs  Link: https://labs.adobe.com/downloads/acrobatcleaner.html

After the rebooting the machine, install the Reader back through Adobe - Adobe Acrobat Reader DC Distribution  Link: https://get.adobe.com/reader/enterprise/

Hope this helps, and let us know how it goes.

    Regards,

    Anand Sri.

Thanks for your help. I downloaded the cleaner tool and as soon as it starts to install it say Acrobat Reader DC Tool has stopped working. Then the program closes. This is the same problem I had with the program itself. When I open a PDF it would give me the same message and close.

So since I cant install the cleaner how do I fix this issue?
