I can't get the email submit button to work for an adobe reader version?

Nothing happens when I check on the button.  Works fine in Acrobat DC

    But, my suggestion is to try different versions. Sometimes, if there is a bug, you just have to tell people to upgrade. But you can't do that without specific knowledge. Do you know the oldest version you are targeting? Are you sure nobody will use a mobile platform?

    Ok, it is definitely worth upgrading Reader to the current version 11.0.19, unless you are on an old and unsupported system like Windows XP. Can't say for sure it will fix it. Almost all problems like this happen because someone opens a PDF in a browser or other unsuitable app, hence the very specific instructions.

    Thanks.  The challenge is this form will be users by 100's of users with all different version, so it basically has to work on the old and the new...Is there something from a coding perspective that I can do, to make this possible?

    Thank you for the screen shot. Unfortunately, I think you have clicked on the version number a few times before capturing the shot. Anyway, it does not show the actual product version. Please try again. No need to post a whole shot, just the number will do, the one that first appears.

    Ok, I mean that, when you are viewing the file, and it does not work, that you do the following.

    1. DO NOT switch window or start anything else. We want to know about the CURRENT APP whether or not it is Reader.

    2. Go to the Help menu and choose Help > About ...

    3. If it is About Adobe Reader please give us the detailed version, such as 11.1.22.

    4. If it is About something else, please tell us what you see

    5. If there is no Help menu, what is the current app?

    At the time you get the problem please use Help - About in the SAME WINDOW. What app is it? If it is Reader, what version is it?

    Thank you for the reply. Reader XI.

    I'm not sure what you mean by use help - about in the same window.

    I created the form in Livecycle. the Email submit button does works in Adobe Acrobat DC just not Reader XI
